Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of SemioSnap: the application at semiosnap.ai and this site at semiosnap.com (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you use it for an organisation, you agree on its behalf.
1. The Service
SemioSnap analyses the structure of texts (web pages, library documents, and documents you upload) and presents maps, timelines and rankings. Some features use AI models. Features may change over time, and the Service may be unavailable at times.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for your account and anything done with it. Keep your access code and sign-in links private. Tell us promptly through support if you think your account is being misused.
3. Plans and payment
The Free plan costs nothing and includes a monthly search allotment. Discovery and Research are subscriptions billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, each with a larger monthly search allotment. They renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. We may occasionally give a higher plan free for a limited time; it ends on its stated date without any charge. Except where the law requires, payments are not refunded. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price change before it applies to your subscription.
4. Your content
You keep all rights to the documents you upload and the queries you run. You give us a limited licence to host, process and display that content only to provide the Service to you. You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload. On Discovery and Research, your uploads are visible only to your account.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to follow the Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend accounts that break it.
6. AI output
AI-generated summaries and labels can be wrong. They are aids to reading, not professional advice: they are not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Check anything important against the source text, which the Service always shows.
7. Third-party content
Search results and library documents come from third parties. We do not own or endorse them, and their own terms and copyright apply.
8. Our property
The Service, its software, its design and the SemioSnap name belong to us. These terms do not give you any right to them beyond using the Service.
9. Availability and disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no guarantee of uninterrupted operation. Outages of our providers, including AI model providers, can make features unavailable.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.
11. Ending
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms. The sections on content, property, disclaimers and liability continue after termination.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We will announce material changes on this site, and by email if you have an account email, before they take effect.
